I went a little crazy today and made all kinds of batches for a client: my "get the day going" tea called Snap Out of It; an herbal tea for headaches; a tincture for anxiety; and bath melts. Tomorrow I plan to round out the order with bath fizzies, salt scrub bars and a massage oil for back discomfort. I haven't made the bath products in some time and find some discrepancies in the recipe in my book and the one I recorded in my software program. At some point I'll need to reconcile them. One has me using a little bit of beeswax and the other does not in the salt scrub. I'm inclined to think not (and that's what the recipe shows) but having just made the bath melts, I thought they were going to melt before I got them wrapped in the pretty colored foils. Maybe that's where the beeswax is needed. They will be great when they hit the water but not so great if they melt in the packaging beforehand. I'll see how they're doing tomorrow. I put them back in the freezer to get the butters to harden up and I'll take them out tonight and see if they've made it through till morning. Otherwise, I'll probably redo this batch tomorrow while I'm "cooking" up stuff. Anyone got a favorite melt, scrub or fizzy recipe they care to share?
One advantage of working in hospice is that I get to play with all the therapy dogs. This is Asher, a Corgi.
