I'm often asked if I have a favorite scent. I have different favorites for different things. For instance, if I'm blending something, Lavender is a favorite because it seems to balance out almost any combination. As for single favorites just to sniff? I have a few: High Altitude Lavender, White Ginger Lily, Bergamot, Palo Santo, Black Spruce and Jasmine Sambac. It's always interesting to me to see what others prefer. I've heard a couple of people talk about how much they love the smell of Frankincense. Seriously? Not me. I don't care for the dry down scent. I have one customer who loves Patchouli. For me, it sort of resembles flavored dirt (I know that doesn't seem to fit but it makes sense to me). And then there are the intrepid few who tell me they could sniff Ylang Ylang all day. For me, Ylang is way too flowery to do that. Got any favorites you care to share and why you like them?
One advantage of working in hospice is that I get to play with all the therapy dogs. This is Asher, a Corgi.
