I tried again today to achieve a push-up body parfait with colored micas mixed in. I know the photo is not stellar but how cool is that with the purple and green swirls? Now that I know it can be done, I need to perfect the technique and see if I can do it without it taking forever. This one has (in grams) 14 cocoa butter, 17 coconut butter, 11 shea butter, 8 kukui not oil, 13 wheat germ oil, 14 sunflower oil and 21 beeswax. I intended to put in Neroli, Jasmine and Vetiver but got so engrossed in blending separate micas once everything dissolved and keeping the batch liquid as each layer set that I totally forgot the essential oils. Since this was an experiment for learning purposes, I'm not too upset by that but next time it will be really spectacular. I also think, to save time, I'll only put one swirl of color in each one. Now I need to start using it and get down to the first layer of color so I can find out if I'm going to be putting green stripes on my legs and arms when I apply it.
One advantage of working in hospice is that I get to play with all the therapy dogs. This is Asher, a Corgi.
