I'm having a great time creating body balms and letting them set in cake pop containers. They're so handy: you don't even have to get anything on your hands if you don't want to. Just push up the container and roll it on wherever you want it. Even though I'm having fun experimenting with essential oil combinations and different fixed oils and butters, I'm unsuccessful in finding a way to swirl the oil-soluble micas throughout the blend so it looks like a parfait, a delicious dessert! Nothing I've tried has worked. This last time I came up with the great idea of putting a tiny amount of the mica in a pill cup and when the recipe was ready, I'd take a little bit of the melted butters and oils and liquefy the mica with it. Then I'd take a syringe, suck it up, dip the syringe into the poured blend and slowly disperse the color in a swirling pattern. It looked like it was going to work but everything slowly sank to the bottom. There just has to be a way to do this. Anybody got any good ideas?
One advantage of working in hospice is that I get to play with all the therapy dogs. This is Asher, a Corgi.
