It seems that whatever I happen to be studying in my herbal studies course falls at just the right time. I was learning about using herbs for all sorts of women's issues: menstruation, pregnancy, menopause, etc. I decided that in addition to the High Calcium Tea I made to help ward off osteoporosis, I would make the Endocrine Aid tincture to make sure my endocrine system was functioning as it should. Lo and behold, a much younger friend learned she had some suspicious cells in her breasts during a routine exam and she asked if I could help strengthen her endocrine system. So I tinctured Rosemary Gladstar's recipe and put a dropperful in my coffee this morning because (truthfully) it didn't smell like it would taste good on its own! I tinctured it for two weeks in 6 ounces of glycerin and I used 3 teaspoons of Peppermint Leaf, two teaspoons each of Dandelion root, Ginger root, Licorice root, Wild Yam root and Dong Quai, and one Cinnamon stick. This yielded two one-ounce bottles.
One advantage of working in hospice is that I get to play with all the therapy dogs. This is Asher, a Corgi.
